How to Prepare Your Car for a Long Drive in Qatar

Check the safety essentials

Inspect all tyres and the spare for correct manufacturer-recommended pressure, visible damage, tread and uneven wear. Confirm that headlights, brake lights, indicators, hazard lights and reverse lights work properly.

Pay attention to brake noise, vibration, weak response, pulling or warning lights. Any unusual braking behaviour should be inspected before travel.

Check fluids, battery and filters

Confirm engine-oil level and scheduled service status. Check coolant only when the engine is cold, look for leaks and never open a hot pressurised cooling system.

If starting has been slow or electrical symptoms have appeared, test the battery. Inspect engine and cabin filters, especially when the vehicle operates in dusty conditions.

Prepare for the journey

Make sure wipers and washer fluid are ready because dust can quickly reduce visibility. Carry suitable essentials such as drinking water, a phone charger, emergency contacts, basic first aid and tyre equipment where applicable. Do not set off with an unexplained warning light.
