How Qatar’s Heat Affects Engine Oil, Batteries and Filters

Engine oil must continue protecting internal components under demanding conditions, but hotter weather does not automatically mean a thicker grade is correct. Use the viscosity and specification recommended for the exact vehicle.

Heat can accelerate battery deterioration. Slow starting, dim lights, electrical issues and repeated jump starts are reasons for a battery and charging-system check.

Filters and the cooling system

Dust can load engine-air and cabin filters more quickly. A dirty air filter can restrict intake airflow, while a clogged cabin filter can reduce ventilation performance.

High ambient temperatures can make cooling-system problems more noticeable. Check coolant, radiator, fans, hoses, thermostat and water-pump concerns promptly.

Tyres and sensible maintenance

Temperature changes affect tyre pressure, so use the pressures specified by the vehicle manufacturer and inspect tread and sidewalls. The goal is not to replace everything early, but to inspect key systems and follow the correct maintenance schedule.
