Summer Car Maintenance Checklist for Qatar Drivers

Cooling, oil and battery

Check coolant level, radiator condition, cooling fans, hoses and signs of leaks. Confirm the engine oil is at the correct level and that service is not overdue; do not change viscosity solely because the weather is hot.

Heat can contribute to battery deterioration, so slow starting or electrical issues justify a battery and charging-system inspection.

AC, filters, tyres and brakes

Make sure the AC produces cold air with good airflow and without unusual noises. Inspect the engine air filter and cabin filter according to the service schedule, because dust can build up quickly.

Check tyre pressures, tread and sidewalls, and listen for brake squeal or grinding. Vibration or a changed braking response needs inspection.

Complete the seasonal check

Inspect belts and hoses for cracks, fraying, swelling or leaks. Check relevant fluids such as oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid and washer fluid according to the vehicle's requirements. Dashboard warnings should always be investigated.
